A Saturday Morning

So I really should be writing my philosophy essay right now. Although the professor gave us a week's extension, it's probably more likely to prove a curse rather than a blessing to me considering my parents and sister will be here next weekend (for which I am very excited!)

Last night I went out to Oceana, voted best club in Leeds, for Jen's, Steph's freind who is visiting from Oakville, last night out. I have to say, that although the bouncer and lady at the cashier were particularly rude, it is definitely a very very nice club- all decked out like a ship, huge dance floor with platforms for dancers, a 'boudior' room- red velvet couches and sofas, and a disco room upstairs with funky music. It was a girl's night out- loved it.

It's all these good times that make me wake up some mornings and wonder how I'm ever going to leave. As much as I miss friends and family back home, I'm having such a great time here that I just wish I could have both! A friend of mine was here for only a semester and miss it so much that he's flying back from Canada for a week in May!

At the moment I'm trying to write my philosophy essay. I've spent the morning and this early afternoon in bed with a cup of coffee, with the sun shining bright through the window. I have to discuss whether the ontological argument for the existence of God is successful. But the thing is, who cares? It's a beautiful day outside, there is so much to do, so much to see. I believe that belief in a higher faith is a personal choice. While you do not necessarily have to choose to accept it, for those who do decide to pursue a theistic way of life, it's an enhancement, an enrichment. Who am I to say that God doesn't necessarily exist. And no matter how much of a discussion I provide on the discourse of religion, philosophers, doctors, lawyers, and businessmen alike will still forever be perplexed by the same age-old question.

Now, back to work...

And it's actually a beautiful day out here too!! I guess we're in the same boat then.

I am also growing exciter by the day. You see, I've never been to England and the thought of an adventure pretty much excites me. That too and seeing you after half a year!

Hopefully the weather's nice and stays warm like you mentioned.

Later,
Brooke
